And yet, we know He never leaves us to face those fears alone if we have put our faith in Jesus Christ. He created our inmost being and knit us together in our mother’s womb ( Psalm 139:13), which includes authoring every day of our lives, God says to his prophet in Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”īecause God created us, He not only knows our fears, but also the situations or new beginnings that may cause us to fear. God created us and He knows each specific fear we have. We do not have to face tomorrow or our fears alone. His Word also says that He will go with us ( Deuteronomy 31:6).

God promises us that he will never leave us nor forsake us ( Hebrews 13:5). He says, “Fear not, for I am with you be not dismayed, for I am your God I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When we are tempted to fear, we need to remember that God is with us. In Isaiah 41:10 God tells us to not to fear. The Holy Spirit allows us to abide in Him. God also gave us the Holy Spirit is the difference-maker who enables us to walk by faith in obedience to Christ.

He reminds us in Isaiah 43:19, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” And that is the beautiful thing about new beginnings with God. Jesus came so that we can have life and live it abundantly. Instead, He sent us a Savior in form of His Son. But God wasn’t afraid to start over and begin again. He created a perfect world and then, we humans made a few mistakes. Look at the Old Testament and compare it to the stories of the New Testament. He also knows a thing or two about new beginnings. Should Christians Be Anxious about New Beginnings?īut sometimes stepping out in faith, going against the grain, or swimming against the tide of the culture can be downright scary, murky, and we feel like we’re buried beneath the darkness of, “What ifs.” God knows a thing or two about starting over. In fact, the Bible has a lot to say about new beginnings. New beginnings are happening all around us-in fact, God gives us a new beginning every time He wakes us in the early dawn hours. New beginnings can be anything from entering into the New Year, moving to a new city, saying goodbye to your old job in order to start a business from home, to beginning a new relationship. But God is with me every step of the way.
